Welcome to Windermere Valley Ski Club!

Based at Panorama Mountain Village in British Columbia’s Kootenay Zone, the Windermere Valley Ski Club (WVSC) is one of Canada’s most accomplished alpine ski racing clubs. With roots in the Columbia Valley dating back to the early 1960s, our club has grown into a vibrant community that draws athletes from across the Valley and beyond. We pair a culture of excellence with a proud history of achievement, all while fostering a welcoming, supportive environment for every member.

Over the decades, WVSC has produced an impressive roster of alumni — from provincial and national team members to World Cup champions and Olympians. Today, we are especially proud to cheer on two of our own, Amelia Smart and Courtney Hoffos, as they represent Canada on the 2025-26 Canadian Ski Teams. From our small corner of the world, we celebrate their journey and the dreams they continue to chase.

At WVSC, we know that a truly successful club is built on dedication, collaboration, and shared passion. We believe in the power of coming together — athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers — to create an environment where everyone can thrive.

We are united by a genuine love for skiing and the exhilaration of the sport. Whether on race day or at training, we support one another, persevere through challenges, and celebrate every milestone. Together, we nurture not only world-class ski racers, but also confident, resilient individuals who carry the spirit of the mountain with them wherever they go.

More than just a ski club

At the Windermere Valley Ski Club, we’re more than just a place to ski. We believe in community, team spirit, and inspiring a lifelong passion for the outdoors.

Our mission is to create an environment where every child — regardless of ability — feels a true sense of belonging, embraces adventure, and develops a love for skiing. These values have shaped our success for decades, and we remain committed to fostering personal growth, building strong connections, nurturing passion, and making a positive impact. Together, we ride the slopes toward excellence — and together, we achieve greatness.

As a registered BC Alpine club and a recognized Multi-Sport Club under Alpine Canada Alpin’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, we offer a comprehensive year-round program. In the off-season, athletes explore a variety of sports that build skills, agility, fitness, and team camaraderie. From hikes and bike rides to river floats and team sports, our summer activities often welcome parents, guardians, and siblings too.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Team Windy — let’s make this season great together!
